Sorabora tank which relates with variety of folk tales and literary creations is said to have been built during the Anuradhapura period by a giant named Bulatha. The special peculiarity of this reservoir is its stone sluice constructed on a natural rock. Facilities have been provided to the tourists who visit this place, for safe bathing in the water that rushes out of this sluice. A suspension bridge with archaeological value can also be seen at this site. The stone pillar found from here is exhibited in Badulla public library. This place can be reached by travelling 200 m from Mahiyangana town onĀ Girandurukotte road and reaching Soraborawewa entrance road and again 2km distance on that road.
