Haldummulla Portuguese Fort

This place can be considered as an observation place of enemy entrances in ancient Sinhala King’s Era and after the European foray, it might have used by them and they might have done several improvements. Therefore, villagers to call this place ‘‘Portuguese Fort’’. Still the ruins of the protective wall made surrounding the fort, secret tunnel way and trench can be observed here. But a proper archaeological exploration has not been conducted up to now. This place can be reached by travelling 100m from the middle of Halatutenna towards Colombo , taking a turn to right to Need wood road which goes upwards, proceeding to the tea factory and from there walking another 500m towards  the peak of the mountain.
